ABOUT ME

I'm Carly, a Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer and first time mummy to my son Theo.  I had a very active and healthy pregnancy and embarked on my own self love journey to feel more confident in my postpartum body. Having gone through it first hand, I know how important it is to make some time to do something for yourself when you become a mother. When you become a mother it is so easy to spend all of our time and money on our babies but it is true what they say, happy mum happy baby. I help mums to realise that they are WORTH investing in and they deserve to wear their postpartum body with pride.

 

I empower and help mums to feel more confident in their postpartum bodies through various programmes, becoming part of a supportive community and help them learn to fall in love with exercise. I believe that EVERY mother DESERVES to feel good in their postpartum body and believe that exercise should be accessible to everyone.

On my journey to self love I realised that a big part of this was making more time for self care, something that I really felt went out the window when I had Theo. Just before Theo turned one I invested in a new device that literally changed the way I looked after myself, and after falling in love with the products, I also decided to start working with the company and selling Nu Skin products to help others to feel good too!

WHY EXERCISE DURING PREGNANCY?

Exercising during pregnancy might seem like a scary thought for some women, but when done in the right way, working with someone qualified, it can have many benefits. Exercise can reduce the risk of pregnancy complications, such as gestational diabetes. It can also assist with having a better labour and a faster recovery post-delivery. Exercise will boost your mood and help reduce stress and anxiety. Exercise will also lower your blood pressure, which again, will reduce the risk of preeclampsia. It can help ease back and pelvic pain and help you to reduce fatigue and improve your sleep (which let's face it, you need before baby arrives!). It is also FUN! I love working with pregnant women, helping them to feel strong, fit and healthy on the most incredible journey as a woman.

WHY EXERCISE AFTER HAVING A BABY?

Sometimes when we have a baby we can neglect our own needs and just focus on that of the baby. Exercise not only helps the body physically but also mentally and make us feel more positively towards our postpartum body. Finding time to exercise can be a little more difficult with a baby and that's why I created The Fit Mummy and Baby Bootcamps. Classes are relaxed and exercises can be adapted to involve baby in the workouts (by holding them or wearing a sling) so that you can get the most out of your time. Exercise has been proven to help give you more energy and improve your mood. It is SO important when you are a mum to do something for YOU that makes you feel good. Our body has just done the most incredible thing in the world, so learning to look after it, move it and respect it again is so important.
